Your First Visit
Your initial visit to our office will include a dental exam, a review of your current medial history and typically includes x-rays. Should you have current x-rays from your previous dentist, we encourage you to have them sent to our office ahead of time, or bring them with you to your first appointment.
When you come to your initial appointment, please be ready to provide information on recent hospitalizations or surgery, or if you have recently been ill. Also, bring a list of the names and dosages of any medications you are taking - whether prescription or over-the counter products - as well as the name of your physician. This information will help us select the safest and most effective method of treatment for you.
Regular Checkups
We encourage regular dental hygiene appointments for all of our patients. Regular checkups are important to:
- Check for problems that you might not see or feel
- Find early signs of decay
- Treat oral health problems early, while they are still manageable
Regular checkups include a thorough cleaning, polishing, and an oral exam by the doctor. During the oral exam, we will complete an oral cancer screening and check for healthy teeth, gums and tissues.
Regular dental hygiene appointments typically take about 60 minutes. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, we appreciate at least 2 business days notice whenever possible so that we can offer that appointment to another patient.
